George Clooney says being a husband and a father is “very fulfilling”.
The ‘Monuments Men’ star – who has three-year-old twins Alexander and Ella with his wife Amal Clooney – admits the human rights lawyer changed “everything” for him.
Speaking about his wife, he said: “There is no question that having Amal in my life changed everything for me. It was the first time that everything that she did and everything about her was infinitely more important than anything about me. And then we had these two knuckleheads. It is very fulfilling and something I didn’t see coming.”
The 59-year-old actor insists he never talked about marriage when they were going out.
He added: “We never talked about marriage when we were dating. I asked her out of the blue, took her a long time to say yes. I was on my knee for like 20 minutes, I finally said, ‘Look, I’m gonna throw my hip out.’ We never talked about having kids, and then one day we just said, ‘What do you think?’ We go to the doctor and you do the ultrasound. They’re like, ‘You got a baby boy!’ and I was like, ‘Baby boy, fantastic!’ And they go, ‘And you got another one there.’ I was up for one. All of a sudden, it’s two. It’s hard to get me to not talk and I stood there for like 10 minutes just staring at this piece of paper going, ‘What? Two?'”
George has a new found “sympathy” for his mother following lockdown.
Speaking to CBS Sunday Morning, he shared: “It’s been a while since I did 15 loads of laundry in a day and mopped floors and all these doors over here I stained. I always say I felt like my mother in 1964, because she had two kids and no help. I don’t know how she did it now, I have more sympathy for her now than ever.”

Ben Higgins may have given his final rose to Lauren Bushnell, but he found lasting love with Jessica Clarke. Bachelor Nation first met Higgins when he competed for Kaitlyn Bristowe’s heart on season 11 of The Bachelorette. After finishing in third place, ABC named the Colorado native the season 20 Bachelor. Higgins subsequently got down on one knee and proposed to Bushnell during the March 2016 finale. The duo, who landed their own spinoff, Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After?, called it quits in May 2017. “I would say the joy that we felt toward our relationship at the beginning was — for some reason — slipping away,” Higgins revealed on his “Almost Famous” podcast at the time. “And we were both working very hard to bring that joy back. And it just never seemed to get there. So it was a long time coming but it wasn’t necessarily like we dragged it out. … It’s hard to say goodbye to somebody that you spent so much time with and it’s hard to say goodbye to somebody that you really did believe was The One.” While Higgins returned to reality TV to compete on The Bachelor: Winter Games in 2018, he quit the spinoff without a love connection. By the end of that year, however, Higgins met Clarke through Instagram. “She’s a very kind, pure, emphatic and supportive person in general. And she’s not only like that to me. I’m part of that, but she’s like that to everybody around her,” Higgins gushed to Us in April 2019. “She challenges me to be more empathetic, more loving, more caring, more kind as well. So I’m very happy.” The pair’s relationship got serious quick. “We’re great. It’s fun. It’s just healthy … I think she would say the same. Our relationship is healthy,” Higgins told Us in January 2020. “I’m a better version of myself, a more free version of myself than I’ve been in a while.” Higgins proposed to Clarke in March 2020 in Nashville, Tennessee. “From my first date in life to the moments in between they all led me to getting down on one knee in front of you @jessclarke_,” he wrote at the time via Instagram. “This weekend I asked Jessica to give me the honor of being her partner for life. She said YES! I now officially have the most beautiful, kind-hearted, supportive, well-intentioned person to spend life with! Our adventurous ride through life together is just starting.” Scroll through for Higgins and Clarke’s relationship timeline.
Called out! Bella Hadid, Drake and more celebrities are joining forces in support of The Weeknd, whose stellar album After Hours was snubbed by the 2021 Grammy nominations. Nominees for the 63rd annual music awards show were announced on Tuesday, November 24, and artists like Beyoncé and Taylor Swift came away with a handful of well-deserved nods. The Weeknd, 30, was completely shut out of the nominations pool — despite having a chart-topping record and one of the most popular singles of the year, “Blinding Lights.” Following the shocking news, the Canada native (born Abel Tesfaye) was quick to respond. “The Grammys remain corrupt,” he tweeted on Tuesday, calling out the Recording Academy and its long-running awards show. “You owe me, my fans and the industry transparency.” The next day, The Weeknd doubled down on his criticism. “Collaboratively planning a performance for weeks to not being invited?” he wrote in a separate tweet. “In my opinion zero nominations = you’re not invited!” Amid the drama, the Recording Academy issued a statement regarding the lack of recognition given to The Weeknd in this year’s round of nominees. “We understand that The Weeknd is disappointed at not being nominated. I was surprised and can empathize with what he’s feeling,” Harvey Mason Jr., chair and interim president/CEO of the academy, told Rolling Stone magazine. “His music this year was excellent, and his contributions to the music community and broader world are worthy of everyone’s admiration.” It didn’t take long for fellow musicians to take The Weeknd’s side and show their support. On Wednesday, November 25, Drake posted a long statement to his Instagram Story — and even hinted that the Grammys might be out of touch. “I think we should stop allowing ourselves to be shocked every year by the disconnect between impactful music and these awards and just accept that what once was the highest form of recognition may no longer matter to the artists that exist now and the ones that come after,” the 34-year-old “Toosie Slide” rapper wrote. “It’s like a relative you keep expecting to fix up but they just can’t change their ways.” Drake admitted that he thought The Weeknd “was a lock” for a handful of honors, including Album of the Year and Song of the Year, and encouraged artists to look elsewhere for recognition. “This is a great time for somebody to start something new that we can build up over time and pass on to the generations to come,” he concluded. Hadid, for her part, gave a subtle showing of support for her ex-boyfriend by “liking” Elton John‘s Instagram post regarding the nominations. The 24-year-old model dated The Weeknd on and off for four years before calling it quits in August 2019. Nine months after they split, a source told Us Weekly exclusively that the former couple “have been in touch recently.” Scroll down to see more stars’ reactions to The Weeknd’s Grammys snub.
