BURLINGTON – The UVM Catamounts jumped out to a 1-0 lead through 20 minutes, but a three-goal second period powered No. 12 Northeastern to a 4-1 victory on Senior Night at Gutterson Fieldhouse. After scoring three first-period goals on the power play in its last game against Vermont, No. 10 UMass (5-3-1, 5-3-1 Hockey East) picked up right where it left off against the Huskies (1-4-1, 1-4-1 HEA), scoring three more times while 5-on-4 in the game.

UVM went 0-8 on the power play. But did not allow any goals on their penalty kill either. UVM only committed 6 penalties themselves. At one point UVM had a 5 on 3 advantage for 1:29 to no avail. There were opportunities. When they had those opportunities though NU tightened down to kill the opportunity. UVM had very few shots on the power play.
